Multi-Terabyte Aerial Imagery Access, Diffusion, and Exploitation

Imagery, whether aerial or satellite, contains abundant information useful for strategic management and decision support in a civilian or military context. Many problems arise in managing large Multi-Terabyte imagery collections that are constantly being updated. As well, diffusion to the right user is not straightforward, since tools to make use of this imagery are not developed for this purpose.

Technology however, has advanced to a point to have instant access to highest level of detail and precision of all available imagery. Web-based, secure server generation and diffusion of imagery requires no IT footprint on the end-users machine, allowing the centralisation of data and ability to manage users’ access rights. This presentation will demonstrate technologies that allow the storage, access, diffusion, and exploitation of high-precision, full-resolution imagery in the civilian (city/state/private) and military context.
