Dear colleagues,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we invite you to the GeoConference Québec 2007, an exceptional opportunity to celebrate and dialog with the international geocommunity!

Much more than a convention, Québec 2007 is a unique opportunity to celebrate the major anniversaries of dates that have marked the history of Geomatics and Surveying Sciences in Québec and all of Canada:

125th anniversary of the Canadian Institute of Geomatics

125th anniversary of the Association of Quebec Land Surveyors

100th anniversary of the Geomatics Department of Laval University, the first surveying school in

North America

Québec 2007 will also host the first international convention of the Francophone Federation of Land Surveyors, a perfect opportunity to recognize, share, and develop the expertise of surveyors and geomaticians around the world!

Sponsored by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), Québec 2007 is an international event that will bring over 750 attendees to the Québec City Convention Center from October 2 to 5, 2007. Under the welcoming theme “Histoire de voir le monde,” the geocommunity from around the world—and particularly the French-speaking community—will gather to share and present its know-how.

Themes ranging from land registers, satellite imaging, and the protection of land rights to spatial databases, territorial governance, and web mapping will all be addressed to spur discussion and improve society.

The program will feature prestigious speakers and international experts. Also on the agenda are a trade show, a technology showcase, student poster sessions, training workshops, technical tours and social, cultural, and tourist activities.

This not-to-be-missed activity also offers a unique opportunity to discover the City of Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in a blaze of autumn colours.

Come and join us in 2007!
