SURVEYING, A RETROSPECTIVE VIEW
As part of GeoConference Québec 2007, you are invited to attend the exhibition entitled “Surveying, A Retrospective View” that will be presented at the Observatoire de la Capitale starting on October 3, 2007.
You will discover some of the history of surveying in Québec in the form of 12 reproductions of ancient survey plans and other archival documents drawn up over the last 400 years by Québec land surveyors. The exhibition will include a reproduction of the oldest survey document produced in Canada, the first boundary report prepared in New France in 1626 by Samuel de Champlain.
The Observatoire de la Capitale is only steps away from the Québec City convention centre. Located on the 31st floor of the Marie-Guyart building, Québec City’s highest building, you will have a peerless view over Québec City in all its splendour.
